Year 6 Ice Cream Day

Welcome to the Learning Hub in 2019

Welcome to the Learning Hub in 2019

The Year 4 class visit the Learning Hub (library) on a Tuesday this term.

Our goal is to encourage a love of literature and the children will be engaged in a wide range of reading material covering various themes connecting with family, the community and the world.

Students begin with ‘learning to read’, followed by ‘reading to learn’ - please encourage your children to read every day. Library bag are required for borrowing to protect the books.

The 2019 Premiers Reading Challenge (PRC) is being launched on 4 March 2019 and students in Year 4-6 are encouraged to read 20 x books, on their own, in order to be recognised by a PRC certificate.

You can find the book lists here: https://online.det.nsw.edu.au/prc/booklist/home.html.

Happy reading!

Week 3 Activities in 4MB

Dear Parents,
Here are some photos of us in 4MB in one of our Maths lesson. We collaborated as a class to first sort various mathematical questions into its operations. We soon discovered that some questions could use more than one operation. The other photos are of us 'shopping' from a food catalogue.

Swimming Carnival

Dear Parents,
Many thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to attend our Parent Information Night.

I'm a little late to post this but here are some photos of the Swimming Carnival from last week. As I was on placement judge duty, I didn't have the time to take as many photos as I would have liked. I was very proud of everyone's effort that day! Mrs Brixen

Welcome to 4MB 2019

Dear Parents,
I hope everyone has had a great time during the school holidays with family. We have all had a great start to the year already in 4MB.

Please mark Monday 18 February in your calendar. We will be having our Parent Information Night that evening. I will go through the routines and expectations of 4MB that evening.

Parent teacher interviews will be taking place on Tuesday 2 April and Wednesday 3 April. If you wish you meet with me before this, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please note that homework this year will be sent home every Thursday and it is expected that homework be returned by the following Thursday. Our first homework activity will be sent home next week Wednesday due to the swimming carnival taking place on Thursday 14 February.

I have uploaded the first letter to parents in case you did not receive the hard copy that got sent home on Monday this week.

We have already immersed ourselves right into our Science unit on heat energy. Here we are looking at the different states of matter and investigating the effects of adding heat.

I am really looking forward to working together with you and your son/daughter this year.

Kind regards,
Michelle
