Stage Singing Time

The neuroscience of singing is proven to make us happier, healthier, smarter and more creative. Around the world, research is mounting that demonstrates the benefits of community singing. Stage Two have been putting that research into practice. Our Wednesdays begin with Stage Singing in the hall. 

Singing with others has been shown to exercise the brain as well as the body, improve posture, and breathing, release endorphins and reduce levels of stress hormones. What a great way to start our day!

All students in Stage Two are looking forward to singing one of the songs we've learned in Stage Singing time this year, Africa, at this week's Friday assembly. All welcome!

4MB Learning Activities Week 6, Term 1

Dear Parents, we have been in class the last few weeks. we've been busy writing narratives focussing on how to write sizzling starts and creative conclusions to our stories. We have been practising our multiplication and division in Maths. In Geography, we finished up our inquiry project on vegetation in Australia. Students had the opportunity to discuss their findings to their peers. In Science, we investigated whether colour affected heat transfer. Students had the opportunity to choose a colour of paint to paint a plastic tub. We then measured the temperature of the water when it was left out in the sun to determine, which colour heated up the water the most!

Managing Screen Time Seminar

Scholastic Book Club orders - closing 22 March

Dear Parents, Your child should have brought home a new Scholastic Book Club order booklet. Closing date for orders this month is 22 March. Please order online using LOOP http://www.scholastic.com.au/schools/bookclub/bc_parents.asp Enter the school name “St Luke’s Grammar School” and it will come up with the Bayview option. Week 4 Learning Activities in 4MB

Dear Parents,
We had an exciting week this week with a visit from Karen Smith who is from the Aboriginal Heritage Office. She had some insightful knowledge about the history of Aboriginals in our local area.

In Science we were investigating about heat conduction. Here are some photos of us melting ice and finding out which materials are heat conductors and which materials are insulators.
