Keeping up the reading habit - Local Library and Kids News Book Club

Dear Families

Keeping up the reading habit in the holidays is to be encouraged, and when you need to change your reading material it is time to visit local library.
There are many activities available over the holiday period - check out the Kids Corner library - kids-corner  as well as the school holiday activities: library - whats-on -school-holiday-activities

Kids News is also offering a Book Club. They have kick-started the club with five great titles for students.
1. His Name was Walter by Emily Rodda
2. Ice Wolves by Amie Kaufman
3. Barney and the Secret of the French Spies by Jackie French
4. Funny Kid Prank Wars by Matt Stanton,
5. The Girl, and the Dog and the Writer in Rome by Katrina Nannestad.

Each month They’ll add a new book to the club, allowing all children to read the first three chapters FREE.

For those students who join the book club and become a member, they can purchase the book at a special discount price when we email a unique discount code at the end of each month.
·       Members will also have additional chances to enter competitions, read author interviews and other cool stuff.
·       Membership is FREE but requires parental consent (there is a link to the parental consent form on each book listing).

Merry Christmas and happy reading

Week 3, Term 4 Activities in 4MB

Dear Parents,
Here are some photos working out where to place a 'pool' in the valley. Students had to work out the length of each side to work out the area of the pool and the fencing to go around it.

Thank you to the band for your wonderful performance last week at assembly.

We had the priviledge of having TaikOz come to perform at our school this Wednesday. Way to go Noah for your outstanding drumming skills.

Since the end of last term, we have been using google docs and CANVAS to complete some of our work. You can access their wonderful work they have been doing by logging into SLIK at home. Have your son/daughter show you some of their writing they have completed.

Just a reminder that we are going to Palm Beach tomorrow! Everyone will need to bring their swimmers, towel, thongs, school sun hat and sunblock.

Kind regards,
Michelle Brixen
